Our Christian Values:
At Ark of Hope, we are guided by Christian values of love, compassion, and service. We believe in the dignity and worth of every individual, offering support and hope to those in need. As it is written in Matthew 25:40, “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”
Our Supported Accommodation is a critical part of our mission to create a world without poverty, inequality, or discrimination. We are committed to offering a safe refuge for women who need it most, fostering an environment of hope and empowerment.
Holistic Support Program
We are committed to providing comprehensive, holistic support to help women rebuild their lives and achieve independence. Our Holistic Support Program is designed to address the diverse needs of our service users, including refugees, care leavers, and those affected by various forms of adversity. This program offers tailored assistance that combines practical and life skills, empowering women to regain control and thrive in their communities.
Each woman receives an individualised support plan developed in collaboration with a dedicated case manager. This plan is tailored to her specific needs, goals, and circumstances, ensuring comprehensive and effective support.
We offer workshops and one-on-one sessions focused on essential life skills such as cooking, cleaning, personal hygiene, and self-care. These skills are crucial for day-to-day living and help foster a sense of independence and self-sufficiency.
Our program includes training in practical skills such as budgeting, financial literacy, and employment readiness. We provide guidance on job searching, resume writing, and interview techniques to enhance employability and career prospects.
For those who wish to continue their education or gain new qualifications, we offer support in accessing educational opportunities, including enrolling in courses, applying for scholarships, and finding tutoring resources.
Recognising the emotional toll of past traumas, we provide counseling and therapeutic services to help women process their experiences and build resilience. Group therapy sessions and peer support groups are also available to foster a sense of community and shared healing.
We promote overall health and wellbeing through access to medical care, nutritional advice, and physical fitness activities. Regular health check-ups and wellness workshops are integral parts of our program.
To facilitate integration into the broader community, we organise social activities, cultural events, and community engagement opportunities. This helps build social networks and fosters a sense of belonging.
In addition to our Holistic Support Program, we offer specialised services for domestic abuse victims. These services provide targeted support to address the unique challenges faced by survivors of domestic violence, ensuring their safety, healing, and empowerment.
